JAXPORT names AJC Logistics as a key provider of cold chain services
The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) recently posted an informative article titled “Jacksonville’s Cold Chain: A Hot Commodity.” explaining how cold chain providers like AJC Logistics are indispensable in meeting shippers’ demands for speed-to-market and food chain safety. JAXPORT offers competitive turn times for both vessels and trucks, as well as outstanding intermodal connections, to reach more than 70 million U.S. consumers within a day’s drive of Jacksonville.
Chris Swartz, Managing Director of AJC Logistics, was interviewed for the article. He highlighted the company’s role in moving fresh and frozen cargo in and out of Jacksonville to and from all over the U.S.
AJC Logistics has been using JAXPORT as a gateway for 48 years. “AJC has a 55,000-square foot facility for perishables, frozen goods, and ambient-temperature products in Jacksonville which largely serves Puerto Rico and the Caribbean,” Swartz said. “We recently expanded our cold storage footprint, which really solidifies our position as a premier refrigerated provider in JAXPORT.”
In addition to the AIB certified warehouse’s specialty--consolidating mixed loads into full container shipments—the article noted that AJC Logistics can help the customer defer inventory carrying costs and storage costs. AJC’s Jacksonville facilities also offer nationwide trucking, ocean import and export transportation services, and other 3PL services.
“Customers like our array of services, and our experience,” Swartz said in his JAXPORT interview. “They trust us. If you are handling perishable items that is critical.”
